The Italian luxury fashion house Versace infuses timeless and glamorous sophistication into Spring/Summer 2013 Versace collections, which also include the collections of Versace Jeans and the brand’s line Versus.
For this season, Versus makes a strong statement in every way, fully loaded with color and texture. And the Versace Jeans this season comes with more edgy design that creates a sense of simple yet elegant.
In the women collection, fashion designer Donatella Versace presents a series of striking prints and iconographic themes in the collection. The themes are created in a Baroque style with a centered iconographic print, coming with choices of colors of black, white, pink, peony, sky blue, turquoise, mint, yellow and lilac.
Versace creates wonderful pieces of art in the women collection, which is framed by a Baroque flourish of intertwining anchors, ropes and flamingos – presented in five brightly contrasted pop variations.
With a three-dimensional plaited effect, the Baroque design in the collection can be seen in the classic patterns of hand woven colonial wicker armchairs.
The outerwear features an abundance of leather, in a choice of threaded or woven finishes, occasionally embellished with small studs in golden metal. A featherweight overlay of nappa on stretch tulle gives a dress and mini biker jacket the sensational feel of a second skin.
Svelte coats are presented in raffia or cotton hopsack, but always with a glazed appearance. Techno stretch cottons for the blazer with branded crest and ultra-light jackets in floaty printed satin.
Trousers are mostly skinny with tapered leg and masculine cut. High waisted figure hugging skirts alternate with minis or circular skirts for a hint of the Fifties.
Another exclusive element in this Spring/Summer 2013 season is fluid jersey dresses, which are embellished with gold coated grosgrain ribbons and branded with an emblem in metal and plexi.
For cocktails, the Italian prestige of Versace tailors the dresses that are embroidered with spirals of mirror finish sequins, or in hopsack with macro Baroque flourishes of gold sequins.
The women collection also includes bags and shoes, presented in the season’s colors with various models.
In the men collection, Versace returns to the nineties presenting the blend of formal and informal dresses with cool and chic style. This season’s men collection indeed combines and overlaps a variety of moods.
Colonial colors are infused into the most formal part of the collection. City-line suits are reinterpreted in crinkle-effect washed fabrics and strongly stated chalk stripes. The neutral tones of mud brown and blue chosen for outerwear and items in washed leather are interspersed with air force blue, especially evident in the ultra-light knitwear and T-shirts worn under jackets.
For the evening dress, Versace includes jacquard and Baroque tone-on-tone prints, sophisticated-lapel jackets and tuxedos, which are better suited to be worn without a tie.
As for the informal dresses, this season presents denim culture with graphic V-neck T-shirt in mesh jersey, the urban-chic look of golden marines, and the most seasonal ‘beach boys in town’ that brings on the holidays.
