When not soaring high in the sky piloting RAF Search and Rescue Mission chopper, Prince William gallops hard on the Polo field for charity.
Prince William of England may win the hearts of many with his charming smiles and warm personality, but when it comes to polo, he clearly describes himself “I am not a good loser.”
The popular British royal has passionately been playing this “sport of kings” since his childhood. His father, Prince Charles of Wales, was a competitive player until an accident in the game forced him to retire from polo competitions in 1992. And now, both of his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry are climbing higher in the equestrian sport of polo. On the polo field, the friendly-looking Prince William is dubbed “a challenged player”.
Determined to do his best in every match he appears in, the charming Duke of Cambridge, Prince Williamhas also been playing polo for charity causes, notably charity polo events organised by Tusk Trust and Centrepoint. And his involvement in Polo charity matches is proved an effective magnet, which has drawn the rich and famous and enticed them to donate to any social causes the older son of Prince Charles happens to be involved in.
But don’t think that the future king of England’s involvement in the sport function merely as money magnet for the charity programs of which he is a patron. When he is out on the field, it was all for the winning. So, expect him to play like any other players of the game would: Riding fast, manoeuvring his polo pony, getting all sweaty, and going for the score. He once said that he saw the prospect of being in a polo match as wonderful, as it would give him a chance to let loose from the busy schedule that often ties him and the Duchess of Cambridge, his lovely wife Catherine Middleton.
