Giuseppe Zanotti Design has launched its second boutique in ION Singapore. Hosted by the brand’s eponymous founder, Giuseppe Zanotti, the opening celebration last October marked the launching of his first limited edition of stylish eco-friendly pair of shoes.
Produced using Levi’s® 501® Special Edition 100% organic cotton denim fabric, recyclable cork and a vintage brooch, the eco-friendly limited collection of wedges designed exclusively to commemorate the event. Giuseppe and the Ambassador of Italy to Singapore, Folco de Luca Gabrielli were unveiling the eco-friendly shoes at the highlight of the night, which was attended by glittering respected guests.
This celebration was inspired by punk rock gothic glamour representing the dark season where the boutique was embellished with black calla lilies specially flown in. Fashionistas such as Erika Sampoerna, Lum may Yee and Tan min Li were seen at the event wearing their favourite Giuseppe Zanotti styles. The tunes from Grace Jones and The Black Eyed Peas echoed the event that was joyously filled with sophistication and glamour, capturing the edgy spirit of the collection.
The season’s gothic streak will keep you in fashion with crystal encrusted skulls on sandals, ankle boots made for the queen of glam, satin pumps and strappy evening heels embellished with tone-on-tone crystals, juxtaposed with criss-crossed openings and lined with royal purple soft leather.
“It’s a new way to interpret fashion that fits the times in which we’re living,” Giuseppe says adding that the styles are the new luxury designed for confidence women with a great taste of fashion. “This season’s collection is made for every woman with designs that combine ever-new elements which are rich in energy and fun.”
Inspired by dark and gothic glamour of the early 70s music, Giuseppe Zanotti’s glamorously sophisticated punk-rock streak appears in his Fall-Winter 2009-10 collection with black dominating the collection. The colour responds to light in various ways such as the ones on suede, silk, snakeskin, crocodile, soft leather and patent leather. Nevertheless, some of Giuseppe’s designs are dominated by brighter colours like silver and gold laminates, winter fuchsia, electric blue and off-white platforms lacquered in red; all of which are the preferred colours for many urban women.
