Sotheby’s to Present Finest & Rarest Wines

111Sotheby’s is pleased to announce the second auction of its September Wine Sale Series – Finest and Rarest Wines, Including Hermitage La Chapelle 1949 – 2010 And Château La Lagune 1958 – 2010 Direct From The Cellars – to be held on 7 September at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery, immediately following the sale of an important private collection, Only DRC – A Private Cellar Of Domaine De La Romanée-Conti, on the same day (see separate release).

The sale totals 760 lots estimated at HK$15 – 22 million / US$2 – 2.8 million*, and includes a superb offering of Hermitage La Chapelle 1949 – 2010 direct from the cellars of Paul Jaboulet Aîné.  There is also a great selection of Château La Lagune, ranging from 1958 – 2010, from the Frey Family who also owns Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné.

Sotheby’s Hong Kong is also very pleased to offer 13 lots – generously donated by renowned Asian wine collectors – Peter Lam Kin-ngok, Henry Tang and Louis Ng – to be sold for charity.  All proceeds will benefit First Initiative Foundation, founded and chaired by celebrated Hong Kong philanthropist and jewellery designer Michelle Ong, in support of the Foundation’s efforts to promote education and creativity in the areas of art, design and music, as well as to enhance Hong Kong’s reputation in the world.
