Breakfast in heaven. It sounds utterly a fantasy, but how could you not think of such when running your knife through a delicate, tender foie gras with a stunning view of 1,500 meters above the sea level, overlooking the endless blue sky?
Fortunately, this is just the beginning. Vigilius Mountain Resort, member of Design HotelsTM, has perfected the wonderful landscape of South Tyrol, Northern Italy, with a plethora of love of good food. The restaurant of which recently announces Mauro Buffo as the head chef manning the kitchen. Owing to his previous stints at the famed elBulli in Spain and Falai restaurant in New York, Buffo’s culinary knack is one not to be questioned.
Refined fresh herbs and spices are said to be his ultimate gastronomic key. They silently magnify the savory in wonderful dishes offered such as Steamed sea bass in zucchini with avocado cream and Pink roast fillet of veal with foie gras. Once you work your fork through it and let the chunk of veal color your palate, you know what paradise feels like in your mouth.
More secret recipes are attentively applied to the sweet, charming desserts. Sample the Saffron mille-feuille with almond bon bon of dried fruit with toffee coffee. The simplicity of layers and layers of taste—the cream, the crisp texture of the puff pastry and the lingering taste of the almond bon bon—sums up the surreal experience of dining with Aphrodite, goddess of love.
Just one tiny problem at the end; you might need someone to pinch you to let you know that this is all real.
