Human skills are as individual as our fingerprints. Which of these skills are mainly yours? And your team’s?
Under the “multiple intelligences” concept, everyone has some aspect of each trait, while others excel in some areas.
Kinesthetic:
Physically fit and athletic, as an athlete, dancer, actor, physical therapist, coach, mentor.
Musical:
Sensitive to rhythm, pitch, melody; able to sing, play, teach, or compose.
Linguistic:
Focused on word order, meaning, and sound, as a poet, writer, editor; good communicator.
Spatial:
Think abstract multi-dimensional, as in graphic design, photography.
Mathematical:
Analyze logically, do math, program computers, study economics, analyze data.
Naturalistic:
Understand life forms, as a geologist, biologist, conservationist and the natural environment.
Intrapersonal:
Know own own feelings, as a therapist, theorist, or philosopher.
Interpersonal:
Be sensitive to others, as with teachers, publicists, politicians, team mates.
Existential:
Ponder the purpose of life; cosmologist, global thinker, futurist, strategist.
