Embarking on her new life as a parent, Cita Tahir Indartono tells Aulia R. Sungkar that she finds an incomparable source of happiness in the presence of her first born.
Cita wasn’t sure if marriage was her destination until she met Aldy Indartono, whom she tied the knot with in May 2010. “Our marriage was not only our destination, but that’s where we started our journey of life together,” Cita says.
Monaco was where they spent their honeymoon. Cita describes the honeymoon as an unforgettable, romantic getaway. The beauty of the smallest country on the Mediterranean truly amazed her. “The most memorable event was when my husband and I drove from Cannes to Monte Carlo. We encountered breath-taking panoramas along the way. They’re so beautiful,” she recalls.
Not only was Monaco the first stop on Cita and Aldy’s journey in their married life that has left a memorable impression, but also Monaco is what they named their baby boy. It was on Saturday, 12 February 2011 that Monaco Rayyan Indartono was born, marking the happiest day of the couple’s life.
“Our honeymoon was fuelled with romance and we want to keep it alive throughout our marriage. We therefore decided to name our boy Monaco. My father-in-law is the one who gave the middle name ‘Rayyan’, which means ‘heaven’s door’, hoping that my boy will grow up as a strong believer in God,” Cita narrates. “And we call him by his nickname Mako.”
She admits that her gaming hobby is what led her to give the nickname. “It’s Mako, the source of powerful energy from Final Fantasy 7 game. I hope that my little boy will become spirited and energetic person.”
Cita holds bachelor’s degree in visual communications design from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) and master’s degree in management science from Bristol University, the United Kingdom.
Currently, she actively plays her role as creative director at her husband’s company, Milestone. With Aldy involving in many projects, not to mention his other roles such as chief of international relations and vice chairman at Hipmi Jaya, Cita currently bears the most responsibility of helming the company.
Focusing on marketing campaigns such as branding, print ad and multimedia, Milestone demands Cita’s active presence in the business. In addition, Cita teaches at Binus International University on a weekly basis. “Teaching is my hobby. I don’t want to miss it in my life. So, I’m trying my best to squeeze sometime to teach. Once a week I give a lecture at Binus. Last semester the subject was consumer behaviour. This semester I teach design realization.”
Cita’s career life has surely kept her agenda filled to the brim. She admits that she needs to have more time with Mako. “I’m making a fresh start as a mother now. There’s still plenty of space for improvement and learning more parental issues. I’m aware that Mako’s grandparents play an outstanding parental role in the absence of me. But when I’m not at work, particularly during weekends, I’m overwhelmed with joy. It’s the joy of being in the presence of Mako.”
Asked what she is expecting her life as a mother will be in the next five years, Cita replies with a smile, “I’m looking forward to the time that despite my daily business activities, I can manage to stay longer with Mako and take a better care of him.”
