Embarking on a renovation in pursuit of having an ideal home or office requires careful consideration of how the whole process, from planning to rebuilding.
During the planning stage, it is important to understand the correlation between space and interior design. Regardless of the amount of space in a home or office, interior design has the ability to create a comfortable living and working environment.
There are many ideas that can be translated into interior design practice when taking on a renovation. And the presence of an interior design consultant is often helpful in the entire rebuilding process.
“We basically combine our expertise with the needs of clients. We draft the initial layout before detailing the design into a 3-D drawing,” Edy Gunawan, director of Vivente, explained.
His company uses 3-D drawing software to virtually create designs and products such as furniture, lightings, accessories and decorations. Upon the clients’ approval, the company can enter rebuilding stage by executing the process into manufacturing.
Vivente is a furniture manufacturer and supplier that offers a one-stop solution of various office needs. “We focuses on office solution with business cores ranging from providing renovation and interior design consultancy and contracting, to manufacturing and distributing workstation products,” Edy said.
Vivente produces workstation products with versatile concept that allows more flexible function in comfortable space. “Most of the offices today demand a more dynamic work space. One way that we can help is by offering furnishings in the form of workstation configuration that facilitates self organization and group sharing environment. Meanwhile, a small office can be furnished with multi-functional accessories to facilitate the effectiveness of space utilization, Edy explained.
Cost and time are the other issues that need to be considered. The cost is varied depending on the size, space availability and of course the quality and the quantity of the choice products. As for the time, it usually takes one to two months to rebuild an office space with the size of 500 sqm to 1,000 sqm, he added.
Catering to both middle and high-end market segments, Vivente has built its portfolio through servicing various business clients that include those from private and government institutions, hotels and other commercial sites.
Just like renovating or rebuilding an office space, the process is pretty much the same in home renovation. The difference lies in the use of more variations of furniture, lighting, accessories and decorations.
Trend Interiors, a customs product division of renowned furniture retail brand “Cellini”, offers products that can support, adorn and beautify any interior objects, such as fixed and loose furniture and wall treatment.
From the making of space layout to the design concept advice and the utilization of 3-D visualization, Trend Interiors helps its clients create a beautiful interior nuance that includes the choice of curtain, cushion, home accessories, lighting design and colors for painting.
“The ambience of a home is a reflection of the interior designs and the objects arranged inside. The building that houses your home is basically an empty space. Just like painting a picture on a canvas, you can create your own dream home with your choices of furniture and decoration,” Susan Liu, design manager of Trend Interiors, said.
Trend Interiors also collaborates with a number of reputable suppliers of home and decoration products such as wallpaper, home smart system, and flooring finishing like carpet and parquet. “Our design and production teams bring in their expertise to complete our wide range of services,” she added.
Be it minimalistic, classic or modern; any style can be beautiful as long as the style is designed in scrupulous detail. Show units in Casa Villa clusters at The Jakarta Garden City, a township development in the eastern Jakarta, are good example.
Conceptualized by Trend Interiors, the two-story houses are built with eco-friendly construction materials with large space that can accommodate up to six bedrooms.
Each of the houses has functional layout that allows extra space to be converted for other uses. “You can easily convert the unused bedroom for home theater, study room or even office. The show units reflect the flexibility of the layout. Each of the houses has spacious backyard that can be used as a family area, a children’s play corner or even a garden,” Susan explained.
In one of the show units, Trend Interiors converted the garage into a home entertainment room, and the living room on the second floor into a study room.
“The functional layout gives homeowners the freedom to transform the unused space into other use based on their needs while still maintaining the aesthetical and elegant look,” Susan added.
