The must-visit natural, insta-worthy and cultural tourist attractions in the suburb of Bali mainland
When someone says Bali, what comes first in mind is probably Kuta Beach or Tanah Lot. Off the mainland Bali, Nusa Penida offers a sense of heaven on earth owing to its breathtaking landscape of enjoying the beauty without too much crowd, go to Kelingking earlier in the day or later in the afternoon.
BROKEN BEACH
Pasir Uug Beach, or internationally known as Broken Beach, is a high cliff with a hollow in the middle, creating the arched tunnel that allows the crashing ocean to flow in, making a natural pool. Unlike its namesake, the beach is not damaged at all. The distinguishable landmark is irreplaceable and becomes one of the Instagram-worthy destinations in Nusa Penida.
One of the tourists’ favorite destinations in Nusa Penida is Kelingking Beach. Situated in the southwest part of the island, the beach is a glimpse of earthly heaven we could discover. The beach looks gorgeous and gives off great natural vibes once you step on the white sand. However, reaching Kelingking Beach is quite challenging, as the most accessible way to go there includes a steep climb down that will require scrambling hands and feet. For the best experience
Located near Broken Beach, this natural pool is even more astonishing, especially when looked down from atop the cliff. The clear salty water reflects the gradation of dark blue, sky blue, and turquoise. This tourist attraction is most suitable for those fond of swimming.
MANTA POINT
Manta Point is a one of the most southern dive spots of the island surrounded by high cliffs where manta rays tend to swim and feed on the surface due to the abundance of planktons as their food source. Once you jump into the water, you will come face to face with a group of manta rays. You can also see these giant creatures surfacing in the sea by climbing the cliffs surrounding Manta Point.
GOA GIRI PUTRI CAVE TEMPLE
Nusa Penida isn’t all about beaches and diving points only. In Goa Giri Putri Cave Temple, you will be offered an unforgettable religious and cultural experience. The temple is located inside Goa Giri Putri Cave, one of the largest caves in Nusa Penida. The cave is completely covered by stalagmites and stalactites, producing the dim light that enhances the spiritual nuance of Goa Giri Putri Cave Temple. Never on a single day this cave temple looks empty as many Hindhus pray at and the tourists also visit the place to learn more about the religious rituals being performed.
